I have a very weird issue with my Dell laptop running on Windows 10. When I shutdown my laptop, the screen and backlight of keyboard turn off, but the fan does not stop. It drains the battery and if I start my laptop after a few hours, I need to plug it in the power? I disabled fast startup and changed some of the power options, but nothing worked. Can anyone please let me know how fix it?

The problem is caused by "Intel Management Engine Interface". It seems that the latest version of Intel Management Engine Interface driver (version 11.**)  is not fully compatible with the latest updates of Windows 10. You need to uninstall  Intel Management Engine Interface driver 11.** and to install the older version Intel Management Engine Interface driver 9.5***. Do the following steps to fix it:

1. Right-click on the Windows icon at the left bottom corner.

2. Click on Device Manager. A window will popup, click on System Devices. You will see a list of items there. Click on  Intel Management Engine Interface, another popup window will appear.

3. Select Driver tab on the new popup window and then click on Uninstall Device.

Laptop fan running even after shutdown

4. Download the old version (9.5) of Intel Management Engine Interface driver from here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23091/Intel-Management-Engine-Driver-1-5M-for-Intel-NUC

5. Unzip the downloaded file and install Intel Management Engine Interface driver 9.5 by clicking on setup.exe

All these steps should fix the issue. I had the similar issue with Dell Inspiron 14 and I solved by following these steps.
