Thunderbird layout : how to change the position of the reading pane from horizontal to vertical

The reading/message pane of the Thunderbird is at the bottom of the email list. When I click on any email, the email opens at the bottom of the email list. How can I change the position of the reading pane so that all three panes (Folder pane, message list pane, and message pane) are side-by-side i.e. in vertical position?

You can change the position of the reading pane in Thunderbird by following these steps:

1. Open Thunderbird, click the Inbox of your email account in Thunderbird.

2. Click the menu button , and open the Preferences menu.

3. Click the Layout and choose a layout. Choose the Vertical view to place all three panes side-by-side.

• In Classic view, the folder pane runs the entire height of the window.
• In Wide view, the message pane spans across the width of both the folder pane and the message list pane.
• In Vertical view, all three panes are side-by-side.
