How can I install the TOR browser on Ubunntu 16?

You can install by following one of these options:

1. Installing via PPA: 

Open terminal and type the following commands 

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/tor-browser

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install tor-browser

2. Downloading from TOR website

• Go to TOR project website https://www.torproject.org/download/ and download either 32-bit or 64-bit version depending on your OS
• Extract the tar file in a folder where you want to keep all the codes of the Tor browser.
• Open the folder where you extracted the Tor files and you will see 'start-tor-browser.desktop' file or 'Tor Browser' icon. Click on that and it will ask to either connect or configure. Depending on your country, you will click on connect or configure.
  • If a clickable icon is not present, follow this to create a clickable icon.
• You are now ready to use the Tor browser.
