I connected my laptop to a big FullHD monitor, but I don't know what is the screen resolution of the monitor. Is there any way in Ubuntu to check the resolution from command line?

Try this command on terminal

xdpyinfo | grep dimensions
praveen@praveen-Lenovo-G510:~$ xdpyinfo | grep dimensions
  dimensions:    1920x1080 pixels (508x286 millimeters)
